Getting Your Sexy Back after Bariatric Surgery

Most obese men and women don't feel sexy. I have to admit that as a former “fat girl” I didn't feel very sexy either. Seriously, it's hard to think you're sexy when the fat rolls are blocking your lower body so there's the problem with the idea that being sexy has nothing at all to do with weight. Nevertheless, as I have grown older and accustomed to working with what I have, I now know that being a “sex goddess” is just about mindset as it is body.

Still there are people who only think they can be sexy once they have experienced bariatric surgery, and for these people who are sincerely trying to locate the “inner sexy” in themselves, I salute you with a glass of sugar-free apple juice and a serving size of graham crackers and offer you the following advice.

First of all, remember that you're Damn Awesome, straight up and no jive. You're simply marvelous and always have been, regardless of bra and panty size. As such you need to wake up every morning and take a moment to worship yourself in all your stunning nudity in front of a full-length mirror. Once you feel more confident, open up the blinds and share a peek with your neighbor. Okay, I was just joking about that neighbor thing, unless you live next to George Clooney and all bets are off.

Next, I don't know Angelina Jolie, and she doesn't know me. Still, I can look at her pictures and tell you that the woman is not healthy. You can be too skinny so don't waste your time comparing your body to Angelina's to any other woman's. Your body, in all its healing and future glory, is yours, and that makes it awesome.

If you don't like your sagging boobies, shape them up in the gym. If you think your butt is too big (don't change it – men love big butts), then work on that too. Your body can be everything you want it to be; just make it what “you want” and not what someone says is attractive.

If there was ever a good reason for a shopping spree, then the huge weight loss that comes after bariatric surgery is it. Once you've lost all that weight, then you most definitely need to go shopping. Normally, overweight people tend to wear loose fitting clothes because they are more comfortable and hide their shapes.

We're no longer hiding though, and it's time to get some new jeans, a few blouses, and maybe a sexy, short skirt (since we can finally see our legs againJ), and perhaps a thong or two if you can handle it. You know what you're working with, and it's now time to share it with others.

Bringing your sexy back is about embracing and perfecting your way of exhibiting what you have. You are one sexy woman; don't be afraid to show it after your weight loss surgery.
